Sr. Project Manager - ChampaignChampaign, IL Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.Project Managers serve as the face of Broeren Russo on one or more projects at a time. They lead a team of Project Engineers, Superintendents and subcontractors in guiding projects from start to finish, and work directly with clients and design teams. A Sr. PM is an upper management position with authority for the operations and successful execution of multiple projects. All duties shall be accomplished according to company policies and procedures. Essential Duties Monitor safety, job cost, schedules, and quality of work on all assigned projects. Provide assistance in preconstruction as needed to determine optimal staffing, schedule, labor and equipment needs. Be an active part of the office leadership team and contribute to the executive direction and leadership of the office by participating in strategic discussions regarding the course and direction of the company. Lead communication and coordinate with all subcontractors, PEs, superintendents, architects and owners. Lead team to complete projects on time, to specifications and on budget. Act as liaison between company, clients, and vendors. Uphold the BR Way and 3-Legged Stool. Successfully manage the change management process. Successfully adhere to the project controls procedures to include monthly cost control, pay requests and cost reporting Oversee schedule and sequencing. Coordinate the sequence of projects to meet customer demands. Address and resolve jobsite issues. Monitor and document jobsite safety and accident prevention. Construction Scheduling Material & Equipment procurement and expediting Process RFIs and Submittals Shop drawing and submittal review and coordination Participation in and documentation of project coordination meetings Supervision and coordination of subcontractors field installations Review and negotiate change proposal pricing from subcontractors The above job description reflects the general requirements necessary to perform the principal functions or responsibilities of the job identified and shall not be interpreted as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the job, either at present or in the future, and may be amended by the management as appropriate, with or without notice. Research and suggest options on construction means, methods and equipment Quality control Project Closeout Collaborates with project staff to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of materials, time, labor, and other resources required to complete the project. Facilitates and contributes to the development of project plans and designs. Recommends and/or analyzes materials, equipment, and practices used in the project. Assesses the competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status of vendors. Supervises progress of development project. Compares the actual cost of development project to estimates. Collaborates with design group to change plans if problems arise. Analyzes equipment, systems, processes, and systems to identify modifications to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs. Prepares periodic progress and cost reports for leadership. Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies. Collaborates with the operations department to identify and troubleshoot problems. Collaborates with project engineers from other projects to share problems and solutions. Performs other related duties as assigned. Able to establish specific measurable, attainable performance goals and hold others accountable for achieving them Build active team participation, team trust and strengthen positive interactions. Education/Experience Requirements Bachelors degree in engineering, Construction Science or related field preferred 8 years' experience in construction preferred. Experience using Project Management software a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Ability to communicate with all levels of the company, customers, and government agencies as appropriate. Ability to stay organized, accurate, and consistent while managing multiple projects. Ability to think clearly no matter the stress or difficulty of your circumstances. Ability to prioritize and multitask proactively to meet deadlines. Advanced computer skills specializing in Excel is required. Strong verbal and written skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Financial Management familiarity. MEP Knowledge. Understanding of Contract Document & Specifications. Licenses or Certificates Required Valid state drivers license. OSHA 10- and 30-Hour Certification required. ASHE Certifications required. NICE TO HAVE 8 years' experience in construction. Experience using Project Management software.
