As part of our long-term strategy to continue this unprecedent growth, an opportunity exists for a Senior Electrical Engineer with experience designing market specific solutions and working closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams to commercialize the solutions and assist the sales team with technical support for market rollout of these solutions. ABOUT THE JOB Reporting to the General Manager, as a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in battery storage systems, you will assume a critical leadership role in the design, development, and implementation of advanced energy storage solutions. Your extensive experience in electrical engineering, batteries, and utility PV project electrical designing and site testing will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and reliability of our energy storage systems. In addition, your hands-on experience with switchboard designing, standards sign-offs, and ongoing testing of systems in the factory and on-site will be invaluable in ensuring the quality and compliance of our solutions. Specific duties include: Lead and oversee the design and development of electrical systems for battery storage projects, including system architecture, electrical schematics, and power distribution layouts. Perform detailed electrical analysis, simulations, and modeling to optimize the performance, efficiency, and reliability of battery storage systems. Utilize your expertise in battery technologies to guide the selection and integration of appropriate components based on project requirements and industry best practices. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, system integration teams, and procurement, to ensure seamless integration and coordination throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct comprehensive electrical design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior staff to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices. Plan and execute on-site electrical testing, including factory acceptance tests (FATs) and site acceptance tests (SATs), to verify system performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as utility companies and regulatory bodies, to obtain necessary approvals, certifications, and sign-offs for the implementation of battery storage systems. Stay abreast of the latest advancements and emerging trends in battery storage technologies, electrical engineering practices, and safety standards, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation. Prepare and review technical documentation, including system specifications, design reports, test procedures, and installation guidelines. ABOUT YOU Required Skills : Strong expertise and work experience in batteries, including battery chemistries, performance characteristics, and safety considerations. Extensive knowledge of utility PV project electrical designing and site testing, including grid integration, interconnection requirements, and relevant codes and standards. Proficiency in conducting factory acceptance tests (FATs) and site acceptance tests (SATs) for electrical systems, including test planning, execution, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to battery storage systems, such as IEEE, NEC, UL, IEC, and utility interconnection requirements. Strong knowledge of battery and Power conversion system technologies, including lithium-ion, Inverters and DC/DC converters. Strong understanding of power conversion systems, inverters, and electrical balance of plant (eBOP) components in utility-scale projects. Solid understanding of industry standards, regulations, and codes related to battery storage systems, utility PV projects, and electrical safety. Knowledge of energy management systems (EMS) for monitoring and controlling battery storage systems. Proficient in electrical design software, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools, for designing electrical systems and creating schematics. Ability to analyze complex electrical systems, identify optimization opportunities and propose innovative solutions. Excellent project management skills, including the ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, manage budgets, and meet deadlines. Proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical challenges efficiently. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences and effectively collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and contractors. Proficient in Microsoft Office including intermediate Excel: charts, graphs, fonts, borders, shading, formulas, tables, pivot etc. Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. 5+ years’ experience in electrical engineering, with a specialization in battery storage systems and utility PV project electrical designing and site testing. Proven track record of hands-on experience with switchboard designing, including knowledge of electrical distribution systems, power electronics, and protection schemes, standards sign-offs, and ongoing testing of electrical systems in factory and on-site environments. Demonstrated proficiency in electrical simulation software and tools for detailed analysis, modeling, and optimization of battery storage systems. Demonstrated experience in leading and overseeing cross-functional engineering teams in the design and development of complex electrical systems. Experience in collaborating with external stakeholders, such as utility companies, regulatory bodies, and third-party consultants. EVO Power USA is an equal opportunity employer.
