Summary Job description Red Balloon Early Learning Center is looking for a strong early childhood teacher who is very energetic and has a positive attitude. We are looking for someone who likes to follow routines but also makes learning fun and educational, to help our children meet their social and cognitive goals. We are looking for a full time Lead Teacher who is willing and ready to lead a classroom. After three months of being full time you will be eligible for benefits: Sick time, Holiday pay, supplemental insurance, and IRA match. After six month you will be eligible for vacation time. Must be 18 years of age and meet entry level requirements according to the Department of Children and Families regulations. Be willing to accomplish or provide documentation of training in the following areas: Adult & Child CPR/AED within 3 months of beginning work, First Aid, OSHA/Bloodborne Pathogen training, SIDS training, Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention training, and Abusive Head Trauma Prevention training before beginning work with children under the age of 5 years Must obtain a certificate from the Wisconsin Registry (the Wisconsin early childhood professional recognition system) within 3 months after assuming the position Must provide within 30 days of beginning work at the center a completed health examination form signed by a licensed physician, physician assistant, or Health Check provider Plan and carry out all aspects of daily classroom programming. This includes planning and carrying out small group learning activities based on the curriculum(s) outline to include, but not limited to: literature, music, art, science, cooking, math concepts, small and large motor activities both indoors as well as outdoors Manage child portfolios in accordance with Red Balloon training and Young Star program requirements with updating of portfolios with photos and other documentation regularly Consistently observe children following the child observation policy Duties Plan and carry out all aspects of daily classroom programming. This includes planning and carrying out small group learning activities based on the curriculum(s) outline to include, but not limited to: literature, music, art, science, cooking, math concepts, small and large motor activities both indoors as well as outdoors Lead Teacher | Provide Director on Site with monthly plans for curriculum by the 21st of each month for the following month Provide Director on Site with list of needs for curriculum after checking around the center for materials/supplies by the 21st of each month for the following month Provide Director on Site with field trips/events/special visitor information, including dates and times by the 21st of each month for the following month Post updates on classroom communication app regarding daily activities, curriculum, field trips, events, etc. for families to keep families informed and involved Complete child assessments for all children after the first three weeks in care and at least twice yearly after Participate in daily parent/teacher communication interactions regularly, in addition to formal parent/teacher conferences for all children in the fall and the spring; be able to articulate the child?s progress through various assessment tools and child portfolios tracked regularly. Keep Administrative Team informed as to how things are going in your classroom and around the center Other Specific Duties: Offer a program that meets the emotional, physical, cognitive, and social needs of the individual children and the group All teachers must update classroom communication app activities for each child in attendance daily, which includes meal items, diapering/potty log, nap log, and daily classroom activities; include photo documentation of various activities throughout the day, and correspond through messages and/or notes with parents as needed Supervise children and ensure that health, safety, and security standards set by Red Balloon are maintained. Teachers will maintain visual and auditory supervision of the children at all times to ensure their wellbeing in the classroom, during bathroom visits, field trips, walks, and on the playground. Attend mandatory annual training in the food program (CACFP) as well as the safe handling of foods provided by the program Lead Teacher Be involved in family style meals by sitting with the children, eating the meals/snacks, and talking with all children to promote healthy attitudes toward food and eating together like a family. Communicate with children using voice tones that are soft yet firm when necessary Follow positive child guidance with all children equally Establish classroom rules with children and have them posted on the classroom walls using pictures alongside written words to demonstrate these rules for emergent literature Bend at knees/squat or sit in a chair when speaking to a child so that you are at that child?s level Interact with children as they engage in free play; dramatic play activities, games, stories, music, movement, and other play interests Provide a caring and nurturing environment that respects all Red Balloon children as unique individuals Assist children who are upset by using compassion and understanding. Promote positive self-image in children through body language and tone of voice Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age and completed high school or its equivalency Have documented at least 240 hours of experience as an assistant child care teacher in a licensed child care center or other approved early childhood setting Prior to assuming the position, a person hired to be a child care teacher must have the education requirements outlined by the DCF 251 licensing guidelines Be willing to accomplish or provide documentation of training in the following areas: Adult & Child CPR/AED within 3 months of beginning work, First Aid, OSHA/Bloodborne Pathogen training, SIDS training, Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention training, and Abusive Head Trauma Prevention training before beginning work with children under the age of 5 years S Must obtain a certificate from the Wisconsin Registry (the Wisconsin early childhood professional recognition system) within 3 months after assuming the position Must provide within 30 days of beginning work at the center a completed health examination form signed by a licensed physician, physician assistant, or Health Check provider Must complete a fingerprint background check upon hire and renew as needed, as well as regular caregiver background checks Benefits Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Flexible schedule Life insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Referral program Retirement plan Vision insurance
