About the job The full potential of quantum computing will be unlocked with a large-scale computer capable of complex, error-corrected computations. Google Quantum AI's mission is to build this computer and unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. Our roadmap is focused on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications.In the device packaging group, we build custom packaging technologies for quantum processors, amplifiers, and other devices that operate from Data Center to microwave frequencies in a cryogenic environment. Our work includes research on quantum processor performance and qubit environment, design of novel packages and test articles, investigation of new technologies, and hardening of current technologies for deployment. Every Google Quantum AI processor comes through our lab for packaging before its deployment to the fleet.As an Electronics Packaging Test Technician, you will work with hardware engineers to assemble and test in-house processors and other cryogenic hardware. You will be a critical part of ensuring that our next generation of packaging matures quickly and efficiently by recording and processing test data. This role is essential for Google Quantum AI to build scalable and reliable electronics for the next level of computing.Google Research is building the next generation of intelligent systems for all Google products. To achieve this, we're working on projects that utilize the latest computer science techniques developed by skilled software engineers and research scientists. Google Research teams collaborate closely with other teams across Google, maintaining the flexibility and versatility required to adapt new projects and foci that meet the demands of the world's fast-paced business needs.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $102,000-$150,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum qualifications: Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other verifiable training in a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience Experience with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, source measurement units, and nanovoltmeters Experience with physical metrology tools such as calipers, digital microscopes, and drop gauges Experience working with electronics packaging including assembly and test, and with ESD sensitive devices Preferred qualifications: Experience with clean room environments Experience with RF or cryogenic devices Experience with statistical analysis Experience handling Si wafers or similar substrate form factors Experience with Python coding language Responsibilities Collaborate with engineering to mature assembly, test, and handling workflows for new electronics packages and test setups. Collect electrical and microwave performance data on experimental devices. Perform electrical performance data processing and physical measurements for engineering review.
