Talk about handsome! Mannie is a "hairy hairless" Chinese Crested, approximately 4 years old and 15 lbs. He's being fostered in Greenville, SC, and is ready to find his forever home. Mannie came into rescue as an owner surrender due to health issues with his caretakers. He had a good life and was well loved, and it shows. He's friendly, playful, happy, and a really fun dog to have in the home. He knows his name and comes when called, and generally listens when he's told to do (or not do) something. We'd like to see Mannie go to a home with a fenced in yard, so he can get his daily dose of running around on squirrel patrol. He will also walk on a leash and enjoys spending time out and about with his person. As long as he's had plenty of playtime, his other favorite thing is to sack out and snuggle up on the couch or in a cozy dog bed. He is wonderfully affectionate without being needy. Mannie does fine with his foster mom at work during the day, although he does howl for a while when first left home alone. So he's not a good candidate for attached living (apartment, townhome, etc.). There is a cat in his foster home and he is overly enthusiastic with her. It's probably best that he goes to a home without a cat or other small animals. He gets along well with balanced dogs, and would be fine in a home with kids as long as they're gentle and used to dogs. He sometimes gets excited and will jump up on people, and with a toddler, he'd surely knock them over. As a hairy hairless, he needs regular grooming, either brushing out to keep it from matting, or shaving down into a pony cut. He has gorgeous furnishings and is really a good looking dog. He'll be quite the head-turner and a fantastic ambassador for the breed. Mannie's neutered, chipped, and up-to-date on shots. He has had bloodwork run, and is also heart worm negative. Any interested adopter should be within driving distance of Greenville, to transport him by car.
