This sweet, silly, and gentle soul never got to experience love, or even the everyday comfort and fun of being a household pet, until she was rescued. Now she never, ever, not for one moment, takes for granted the care that she receives and the kindness of humans. She constantly shows her gratitude with snuggles, affection, and lovely manners! Essie is kind to everyone—her family, strangers, dogs, and cats too! She is completely house trained, kennel trained, and well behaved in the home. She knows commands for going to her kennel, sitting, and recall. She takes treats very gently. She walks nicely on a leash as well, which is so impressive because she had a terrible fear of leashes when she first came to us. It’s amazing what she has overcome in just a few months. This girl’s greatest wish is to find a forever home, preferably with another dog to play with. She is super social with dogs and gets along beautifully even with the toughest personalities. She is a submissive girl who just wants to get along! She wants zoomies and peace. Oh but she is a terrible danger to stuffies! No stuffed toy is safe with Essie! She loves to destroy them! It’s actually really heart warming because she never got to have toys in her life. So we can forgive some slaughtered stuffies. Essie also loves to chew on bones, sniff around the yard, and go for car rides. Essie is still building confidence after a tough start in life. She would like a somewhat quiet/calm home with people who are dedicated to taking her on more outings and exposing her to life in a positive way. Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $725 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations.
