Practice Area: Workers' Compensation Law - General, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 1 Years, A law firm seeks a Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney for their New York City office.Job Overview:The Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney will handle a caseload of workers' compensation claims, conduct legal analysis, represent clients at hearings, and assist with trial preparation and appellate briefs.Duties:Conduct file review and legal analysis of workers’ compensation claimsPerform extensive legal researchDraft client correspondence, discovery devices, summations, appeals, and appellate briefsMaintain an annual billable amount of 1950 hours.Represent clients at depositions and hearings before the New York State Workers’ Compensation BoardPrepare for trials and attend as necessaryRetain and evaluate expert witnessesRequirements:Minimum of 1+ year of experience as a practicing attorneyJ.D. degree from an ABA-approved law schoolAdmitted to practice in the state of New York; admission in other states is a plusSkills:Superior analytical and problem-solving skillsSolid research abilitiesExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong work ethic and ability to self-manageTeam player with the ability to work collaborativelyPrompt responsiveness to e-mail and phone inquiriesExceptional client skills and telephone mannerBenefits:Innovative financial incentive bonus programProactive support and training for marketing objectivesExcellent Benefits, including a 401k matchExceptional growth and advancement opportunities
