For sale is a Charley Paris signed western lithograph of cowboy on bronco, "Riding High" is the title of the print. It looks to be hand-colored. The print is in excellent condition, no foxing, etc., and the colors are vibrant. The artist, Charley Paris, was born in 1911 and died in 1994. He worked as an inker for D.C. Comics, known primarily for doing the Batman Series. The texture of the frame resembles barnwood in a maple or caramel color and is in excellent condition. The print has a dark brown leather (or faux leather) softly textured mat around it which sets off the print beautifully (you can see this in the photos). Hanging wire is in good shape, ready to hang.Measurements:22 inches wide26 inches high7/8 in deepOriginally sold by the Lammert Furniture Co in St. Louis, this Ranch Oak brand framed cowboy print is a must-have for a Western-themed room or home. Patented "Ranch Oak" furniture was one of many lines of furniture manufactured by A. Brandt Co., Inc., a furniture company that operated for 50 years in Ft. Worth, TX. From 1938 to the mid-1980s, Ranch Oak furniture was used in ranch homes, mountain homes, dude ranches and rec rooms across the U.S.See all photos. On the back of the frame is a yellowed note showing the name of the print, "Riding High", also that it's Ranch Oak by the A. Brandt Co., from Lammert Furniture at 911 Washington Ave., in St. Louis, Missouri. If you look up the Lammert Furniture Co., you'll see the building where its store closed in 1973. The building was renovated in 1984 and is now a landmark.This print was purchased in the early 1960s, about the same time as the mid-century modern furniture seen in my other listings.From a smoke-free, pet-free home.
