NO RESERVE!This was a hard decision. This is an incredible instrument custom made by Roy Lawler - who stopped making Trumpets and Flugels after some 30 years and went to trombones. His instruments are highly prized and acclaimed. I am privileged to have owned and played this horn. It is raw brass and I have not even considered polishing it. I just love the raw brass patina of this horn. All slides, triggers work perfectly. Valves are pristine. Intonation is solid. And this horn has - well it has the sound you expect from a Lawler instrument. Melodious - it just sings. I have used this description for an Olds Mendez trumpet but it has a slightly different meaning there - but it applies equally here just qualitatively different - This Horn sounds sexy! Throaty. Like Mae West in a brass instrument. Just incredible. Medium bore measuring .45. A 6.5 inch two piece bell.This horn is not listed on the official Lawler registry - just never got to that - but it should be. It was built in 2005 according the registry listings. There are two small dings. See the photos. Nothing that impacts this horn visually or in terms of its sound or intonation. I will include 2 Bach 3CFL mouthpieces that are basically new, a K Flugelhorn stand, and a Protec Gold triple horn w/ mute bag (synthetic canvas - retails for $209).Look around the internet a bit and you will see owners gushing about Lawler horns. They are priced accordingly when someone sells.This was a custom built horn ( parenthetically - Lawlers horns were all pretty much custom as opposed to mass produced). It was listed for sale on Reverb before I bought it - the quote below from that listing provides the provenance of the horn. Interesting comparison to Couesnon Flugelhorn Horns - I have oner of those listed for sale as well.*** *** ***"Up for sale is a completely one of a kind Lawler flugelhorn! This was made custom for Art Davis, my former professor at Northern Illinois University, who had it designed to play like an old Cousnon, but with a bigger bell for amazing projection and literally no bracing to make it slide around and play like a martin committee. This horn was made during Roy's partnership with Getzen for valve blocks, which makes for buttery action and great compression. The horn also features an adjustable third valve trigger and amado water keys.Serial number: 0774Ps1 marked on valve blockRoy Lawler made only a very small amount of of flugels during his time as a trumpet maker (he dedicated his shop to his new modular trombone design several years ago) which is why the price is so high."
