NO RESERVE. Continuing the liquidation of horns in my collection that need new and appreciative homes is a Vintage (1990's) F. Besson (Kanstul) 4 valve Bflat/A Piccolo Trumpet with leather case. I am including some extras: (1) a Bob Reeves 40 MPT mouthpiece and (2) a copy of The Piccolo Trumpet Big Book (Hickman). Another horn I picked up thinking I would jump back into playing after 40 years. Made in the USA. Yellow Brass. 3 7/8 inch bell rim and a 0.460 bore. Serial number is 6144 and my understanding is that this horn was produced in the late 1990s. I bought this in 2022 and played it very little. I was told by the previous owner that he used it to audition for doctoral programs. In generally very good condition - see photos. There are two spots of what looks like tarnish exactly opposite one another on the bell rim - did not try to clean the area or really investigate and have no explanation. The other is a pencil tip sized dent on the 2nd valve elbow. Went into the shielding. Does not seem to affect the play or sound but I also do not think it can be repaired. Just no way to get to it. How far the dent actually protrudes into the air column is anyone's guess. The elbow is reinforced so it is possible the dent barely enters the air column. Otherwise it is clean and everything works smoothly and perfectly. Valve are fast and look nearly new. Slides move without hesitation. A well made horn and to the extent I can render an opinion ( I have spent very little time on a Pic) it sounded pretty good to my ear. In the hands of an experienced player I think this little horn will sing.The case is solid and in very good condition. No keys, the were not provided to me when I purchased the horn.
