Zia is a sweet, sensitive senior girl who came to the shelter after she and her friend Zeus were abandoned. Zeus is the more confident of the two, and Zia takes comfort from her friend. Here’s what one volunteer said:“These sweet seniors are a little bit shy but definitely warm up with kind and gentle interaction. Both are mellow, quiet, easy-going and well-behaved and are easy to leash up and walk. Zeus does not act his age and is playful, friendly, and a major show off! He is so proud of knowing how to sit and give paw, especially when treats are involved. He’s also a bit of a goof ball. Zia is a little nervous but tolerant- a gentle, tender-hearted gal who appreciates kindness. Slow and easy works for her and she will come to you for affection when she feels safe. Zeus is the confident one and Zia looks to him for guidance.”Zia recently spent some time away from the shelter on a pawjama party. She got to go on a car ride and explore. She’s a shy, quiet girl who showed that she enjoys being outdoors, is housebroken, and is very mellow. She encountered other dogs and did well. Here’s what her host had to say:“Zia is cautious and needs to experience more kindness from people. She was so well behaved that I did not try to crate her. Zia loves dog treats and is a decent eater when comfortable. Zia does tend to perk up when outside and seems her happiest.”Zia does well with her friend Zeus and kept to herself when meeting other dogs in playgroup. The shelter is truly no place for a senior dog, and Zia really deserves a loving home with a patient family who would never leave her behind. Please ask to meet Zia today!!
