The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal advice and representation throughout all stages of the workers’ compensation process, from pre-litigation to settlement negotiation, and demonstrate exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership abilities. Duties:Represent injured plaintiff-employees in their NC workers’ compensation casesProvide legal advice and representation during all phases of workers’ compensation casesAssist injured employees in obtaining benefits under the NC Workers’ Compensation ActLitigate cases at the Deputy Commissioner, Full Commission, and Court of Appeals levelDraft pleadings, discovery, orders, motions, and briefsNegotiate settlement agreements and terms with opposing partiesOversee and manage Workers’ Compensation Case Managers and Paralegals Requirements:Juris Doctorate from an accredited law schoolLicense to practice law in North Carolina5+ years of legal experience in Workers’ Compensation law firm or insurance defense firmExperience with complex Workers’ Compensation claimsStrong analytical writing and verbal communication skillsExceptional interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independentlyExcellent organizational skills and ability to multitaskExtensive knowledge of medical issues in Workers’ Compensation claims and hearing processProficiency in Microsoft Windows/Office and ability to learn software programsExperience with Litify software preferred Benefits Offered:Competitive compensationMedical, dental, and vision insuranceBase life insurance paid by the firm with supplemental optionsShort and long-term disability paid by the firm401(k) with matchPaid time off (PTO), holidays, and paid volunteer time offEducation and gym reimbursementEqual Opportunity Statement This law firm provides a wide variety of legal services to seriously injured individuals in North Carolina and South Carolina.
