Meet Robbie! He is a 1 yr old male Shepherd/Australian Kelpie mix that weighs 54lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 7/10. Robbie is a very handsome boy with a happy go lucky personality. He loves to run through the shelter yard, but not for long, as he states he prefers the indoors with air conditioning. He is a very loving boy that will put his paws in my lap then cover me with kisses. He walks well on a leash, knows the sit command and takes treats gently. He enjoys playing with toys and balls. He would enjoy having his own secured backyard he could run and play in when the weather is cooler. He does jump a bit, but I feel it is due to his excitement of being out of his kennel. As we walked past the dogs barking at him, he did not show any interest. We do always ask if there will be another dog in the home, to please ask the shelter for a dog test. He would love to find his own loving family where he can receive decompression time to become acclimated to his new family and learn things he can do, and receive guidance to be the best pup they can be. He is such a loving boy he would so enjoy playing inside, then take long naps on the comfy couch with his human companions.
