Jojo, Dachshund For Adoption In Brookfield, Connecticut

Price:
$200
Location:
Brookfield, CT
Description:

Jojo is a sweet eight year old dachshund whose owner sadly passed. He is blind but what he lacks in sight he makes up for in joy and love. He sleeps well, walks brilliantly, and is friendly with other dogs. This playful little guy is looking for a new home to map out with humans to snuggle ASAP. Environment Jojo is house trained and—if necessary—pee pad trained. He’s great on walks and even does his business quickly when it’s raining! He hasn’t been crated in his foster home but does just fine in a pen. Jojo prefers to have company, playtime, and snuggles so while he’s ok to be left in the pen when you’re out, he would prefer a home with people around more often than not. Despite being blind, Jojo needs little accommodation and is very clever at mapping his terrain. At first, his new people will just need to give him a bit of space to get used to the new home before picking him up and take care not to startle him. Jojo doesn’t especially need a fenced in yard so long as he is always leashed. He isn’t a runner, but without a boundary or someone watching, he might accidentally wander off. He doesn’t bark too much so a home with shared walls is ok. Pets & People Jojo is a good sociable all-rounder. He’s only ever reacted when he’s been riled up by other dogs or startled by people. So long as he knows you’re there he’s fine with attention from all people—strangers, men, women. He’s relatively untested with children but pays them no mind when out on walks. Jojo can be a little possessive with food and treats so he’s been fed separately from the other dogs. Location Jojo is available for adoption from Miami, FL. Please email XXXX@gmail.com with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Jojo is $200.00. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 17, 2024, 3:52 pmAdoption process6 Step Adoption Process 1) Application - (While we encourage you to let us know on your application if one of our dogs has captured your interest, we use this simply as a guide for matching and your listing of specific dog in no way implies claim to this particular dog) NOTE: Adoption Applications expire 6 months from the date of receipt. If you have already submitted an Adoption Application and it has been longer than 6 months, you will need to fill out a new Adoption Application. 2) Reference Checks - All references will be checked prior to home visit. We will contact your current vet, if you have one, for a reference. 3) Application Review - Processor reviews the application, calls the vet if you have one, verifies vaccinations and spay/neuter. We email personal references (if email is provided) or call them if necessary. Email is best since as references can respond when they are available. 4) Home Visit - A volunteer will come to your home to visit with you and discuss care of dachshunds. Also, the volunteer will look for any potential problems and check to be sure that your fencing is secure. Your home visit does not mean you have been approved. 5) Approval - After the above steps have been completed all your information will be reviewed and a decision will be made about adoption. If at this point you are approved to adopt, LPDR will help guide you to the appropriate dog for your family. 6) Contract - For the protection of the dogs we place, everyone that adopts a dachshund from LPDR will be required to sign an adoption contract.Shelter locationAre you looking for an opportunity to foster a dachshund? Fostering is our transitional step from a shelter/surrender to a forever home. During this time it’s important that we give each dachshund a safe environment where it can learn to trust again, to heal and to learn how to become a loving family member. Many of the dachshunds that we pull from shelters or receive from an owner surrender just need a temporary home until their new forever home can be found.
