The Judge Group is in search of a Food Scientist to join an exceptional and innovative, high-growth Food Manufacturer in the Northern Suburbs of Chicago. Food Scientist-R&D to perform food product development work to meet project objectives. Projects will include commercialization of new products, Shelf-life Management, Creation and Management of Sensory Programs, Quality Improvement and Cost Optimization of existing products and processes.Responsibilities:Executes small scale and large-scale plant tests Creates and manages product specificationsPerformed and manage sensory evaluationsManage shelf-life studies. Maintains accurate and complete records, analyzes reportsUtilizes a working knowledge of plant processes and facilitiesProvides onsite monitoring and technical assistance to operations when testing/manufacturing new products. Leads commercialization of product changes and implementation of new items and processes.Identify and lead projects to drive revenue and margin growth for the organization.Skills/Proficiencies:Strong technical/analytical skillsGood time management and multitasking skillsComputer skills that include Word, Excel, PowerPointExperience:BS Food Science, Chemistry, or similar fieldMaster's Degree in Food science, Animal Science, Meat Science a big plus!1-2 years in food product development experience on the meat industry
