This 57lb Coonhound is still a puppy. He is sweet, silly, active, and playful. He loves other dogs and is great with kids. He really needs an active family to spend time with him and keep him stimulated. He is healthy, up to date on all his shots, microchipped, and neutered. He is crate trained and house trained. GREAT HOUND DOG FOR A HOUNDY FAMILY! We have invested in intensive training for Chopper. He’ll be great at that in no time. He likes to chew on things he shouldn’t so doing lots of corrections for that til he picks up right/wrong. Overall he’s doing good, just needs a lot of structure and clarity on what’s okay and what’s not. He will need an adopter that provides structure and consistency for sure, or he will quickly go back to his wild ways. Meet 14 month old Chopper. He is currently in a foster home while searching for his furever home! ❤️🐕.Here are the top 10 things that would make Chopper such a great addition for experienced hound owners!1. He's very photogenic as you can see! lol.2. Loves snuggling on the couch with you in the late evenings and gives hugs and kisses when ready to snuggle; he's so cute! He's even gotten the nickname "Flopper" due to how he just flops down when he's ready to chill. You name it, he'll flop on it! Haha! 🤪3. Enjoys sleeping the night in bed, but will also sleep quietly in his crate once adjusted to his new environment.4. 100% crate trained.5. 100% house broken.6. Is great/playful around all dogs, people, and children.7. Favorite activity is going for walks (he will even bring the leash to you if deprived!).8. LOVES being outdoors as much as possible, whether it's walking, running, playing with toys, playing with other dogs, or just sniffing the air to get his coonhound text messages! 😆.9. Second to being outdoors is his love for other dogs! He is always very excited to meet other dogs and just wants to play play play! He plays with anything from 8 week old puppies to 6 year old adults and takes to correction when getting to rough really well!10. Very high energy level that would pair best with a family who is very active and could include him in all the fun!**Important**- Chopper is still working on some household manners and has very high energy levels; he must go to a home/owner who has previous hound experience and someone who can match his vast energy! He's an absolutely amazing boy, don't get it twisted, but someone who is not experienced with hounds will be less patient with Chopper and that wouldn't be fair to him nor a potential adopter!- Equally, you must be able to match his high energy levels to tire him out - providing a good amount of mental stimulation.
