While I'm 13 years old, I still have the energy level of a younger cat. I love catnip and playing with my toys, especially a mouse on a string. I also love head scratches and cuddles but with someone new, it may take some time for me to get acquainted. I might be a little stand-offish at first. While I get along with some dogs, I would probably be much happier in a home with no dogs or 1 older or calmer dog. I currently live with 2 dogs and one of the dogs and I do not get along very well. I like to be the king of my castle so I don't like to share my home with other cats. I really love food, especially wet food and treats. I will let you know every morning when I'm hungry if you haven't already woken up to fill my bowl. I can be vocal when I really want something. Once my belly is full, I like to spend the afternoons taking long naps. I also love sunbathing on the patio but won't stay outside too long b/c I prefer finding a cozy place inside to nap most of the day. I’m affectionate and need a new person/people to love again! I would enjoy a calm & quiet home, no young children, maybe one other friendly pet (dogs only), or I would be just fine being the one and only! Kalanu is updated on shots, neutered, microchipped, and ready for his new home.##1992650##Adoption processInterested adopters go through a careful screening process to include reference checks, telephone interviews, and where appropriate, home visits. No cat will be placed in a new home which allows cats to go outside. The adoptive owners agree to give Austin Siamese Rescue, Inc. the option of reclaiming the cat, should the adoption not work to the advantage of the new owner and the cat. Adoption fees for Austin Siamese Rescue, Inc. range from $100 to $225 and include such vet work as combo test, vaccinations, worming and flea control, and microchip. We spay or neuter all of our cats prior to placement and most of our kittens, depending on their size and readiness.
