Seeking a Construction Safety Manager with a background in overseeing safety within commercial roofing for a direct hire position with our client located in Hyattsville, MD. This position offers full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental and 401k! Salary is between $65,000 - $100,000 per year (based on experience) In this role, you will ensure the safety and well-being of team members and subcontractors on roofing projects. You will play a critical role in maintaining compliance with safety regulations and implementing best practices to mitigate risks and prevent accidents. Responsibilities: Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to promote a culture of safety across all projects. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards. Provide safety training and orientation for all new hires and subcontractors, emphasizing the importance of safety protocols and procedures. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to address safety concerns and develop effective safety plans for each project. Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training activities, and safety equipment inventory. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in safety management. Act as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns from team members, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies. Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management for commercial roofing or a comparable environment. OSHA 500 certification required; additional certifications such as CPR, CHST, First Aid, and CSP are also required. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and best practices in the construction industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate team members on safety protocols. Proven ability to conduct thorough safety inspections, hazard assessments, and accident investigations. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate safety records and documentation. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing safety as a top priority.
