LOCATION: Victoria, TexasDOB: 06/10/2021 (Estimate)If you are looking for a sweet dog that might just give you a boop, Betty may be your perfect girl! She is a typical goofy Dane who just wants to be with her family. Not too much is known about Betty’s past but she overcame parvo, is happy to be alive and is a huge love bug!!Miss Betty is a young and energetic Dane who loves to play with toys and her foster sisters. Her ideal day includes being able to go outside and roll around in the grass, play with some tennis balls, munch on some bones, and gnaw on some chew toys. This silly girl does seem to enjoy “tasting” items around the house so being mindful to redirect her when needed and keeping her toy bucket stocked with fun and engaging toys would be helpful.She still needs some training but she is very smart and learning quickly. Her foster momma is working on some basic commands with her, and she has learned Sit and No. She doesn’t tug on the leash which is impressive as she most likely has not been leash trained. And she is food motivated. Being around water isn’t high on her priority list but she will take a bath if the need arises. Betty wants to be with people and be part of the action but she does well by herself (without anything left around to chew) and she is crate trained. The crate, however, is not her favorite place to be. It takes a little coaxing to get her in and she will cry a bit before settling down. At her foster home, she has a bedroom instead that she stays in when she is to be left unsupervised and she does fine. She is house trained and has never had an accident even when she was recovering from parvo. This gorgeous merle girl is good with men, women and kids. Her foster family has nieces and nephews, ages 4-8, and Betty loves to be with them. Not sure about cats. She barks at the neighborhood cats when she sees them but has had no interaction with them. She is fed separately from her foster furry siblings but it’s to help her decompress after eating since she tends to get the zoomies and her tummy needs to settle first. Betty would do great in an active home that has some structure and maybe another dog or two for her to chummy up with. She enjoys playtime probably more so than rest time but she won’t pass up an opportunity to curl up and take a nap if the time is right. It just might take a little coaxing to get her to do so.
