Bonjour, Pierre! Pierre the poodle came to us from Chula Vista Shelter on June 20th after having dental surgery and being neutered while he was there. He is 14 years old, weighs 7 lbs., and is very sweet. Pierre loves to snuggle and give kisses. He is an adorable cuddle bug who acts much younger than his years, is great with cats, and loves other dogs. Pierre lives in a Foster home but is still on the lookout for his forever home. We recently received an update from Pierre (with assistance from his foster mom): Hi… it’s me, Pierre! I’m doing great. My foster mom makes me delicious home-cooked turkey, rice and veggies. She gives me treats when I do my business outside so now I know that that’s where I'm supposed to go potty, and I’ve had no accidents since the first week. I can hold my business for 8 hours overnight, and between 2-4. hours during the day. I love going on walks and have lots of energy for my age for sniffing and trotting beside my foster mom at a good pace. It’s so funny, several people we have passed by on walkies have asked my foster mom if I’m a puppy! Can you imagine! I’m 14! That must be because I’m so spry and spunky. I can jump up and down on the couch and get the ultra zoomies after my bath. I’m still getting used to baths and brush outs, but that’s okay. The only thing is that I don’t like being left at home by myself and will bark. You could always take me with you, I’d like that and be such a good boy if you did by sitting/laying on your lap. My beautiful apricot colored hair is growing back in nicely, and I’ve put on 1.7 pounds, so I’m not so skinny any more. My all-time favorite thing is to snuggle and be petted by my person.
