Alive launched in 2019 as a set-up & tear-down church in a local middle school. Over the years, Alive has grown, and in 2023 purchased & renovated its own building, centrally located in Brighton, MI. Alive’s average attendance is 300 on Sunday mornings. From the beginning, Alive has been passionate about helping people know God personally and live for Him passionately. We have a “come as you are” & “no perfect people allowed” culture, with passionate worship and uncompromising teaching of the Bible. Alive is a growing congregation with anointed Sunday morning worship experiences and excellent children & youth ministries, small group ministries, and Bible Basic classes. Alive is active in the community through various outreach programs and events. Vision: We see a large family church that is alive. A friendly gathering place where people get to know Jesus. A loving family in which people grow in the Lord. And a passionate movement where empowered believers serve their generation well. About the Youth Director/Pastor: The Alive Youth Director/Pastor role is for a next generation revival maker. This person is a dynamic leader able to draw and engage middle school & high school students from within and outside Alive Family Church to experience a meaningful opportunity to become devoted followers of Christ. This person is a leader with a deep personal relationship with Jesus, anointed for and called to full-time ministry, with proven personal & leadership qualities to lead the youth ministry. Key Responsibilities: Bring Inspiration to the Vision of Alive Youth Lead and develop the Alive Youth Team (volunteers) and to create a dynamic youth ministry experience, advance the mission of Alive, and provide accessible avenues of spiritual growth. Primary Youth Leader Create moments & experiences with God in Alive Youth and strive to make every Alive Youth experience one that people want to repeat. Drive the Alive Youth Sunday experience with enthusiasm and authentic, expressive leadership. Motivated in self-improvement; striving to continually grow spiritually and in craft. Set Planning/Building Plan for upcoming curriculum/teachings and upcoming youth events in the Youth Year at a Glance, 3-6 months in advance. Insert the serving schedules in Planning Center 4-5 weeks in advance. Relationship building with students and leaders Intentionally build meaningful relationships with all students, especially student leaders, connecting with them outside of Sunday mornings. Build youth small group culture that empowers youth leaders to build meaningful relationships with students both on Sundays and outside of Sunday mornings. Lead the transition of Alive Youth’s current format: weekly Sunday mornings (and once a month Sunday night) to the new format: Youth Nights weekly on Sunday nights. Enthusiastically bring vision, expectation, and momentum to students & leaders for this ministry transition for Youth weekly on Sunday Nights. Expand volunteer leadership team and structure for Sunday night format Strategically & Intentionally build Sunday night youth culture that does not just reach our current students, but create a wake of revival to engage HS/MS students outside Alive Family Church. Coordinate with Alive Worship Director to pioneer a youth worship team. Lead all Youth Sunday Nights, Summer Camp, Fall Retreat, Seasonal Youth events and outreaches that reflect Alive culture. Follow the Spirit’s leading on what He is doing in the hearts of the students and plan devos/mini-messages and events accordingly. Prepare and communicate Bible devo/mini messages at weekly Youth Night in a way that is fun and connects with students and helps them grow in authentic relationship with Jesus. Oversee & multiply all youth teams (student & adult volunteers). Oversee all planning and admin for Summer Camp, Fall Retreat, and local youth events. Keep the youth environment/gym clean and tidy. Team Leader Meet weekly with Lead Pastor for mentoring and development. Attend monthly Staff Meetings. Coordinate with Worship Director concerning youth worship. Continually invest in developing the youth team through community and spiritual growth. Ongoing Recruitment and Team Development. Manage and organize Youth Alive Team (volunteers) meetings on Sunday nights and rhythmically throughout the year. Lead team with comprehensive knowledge of Planning Center, our primary mode of communication and scheduling of teams. Schedule youth teams at least one month in advance for services and events. For each service/event, create service flow to reflect all elements and transitions. Job Essentials: Devoted Christ Follower (As a religious organization Alive Family Church makes hiring decisions that are aligned to our faith and beliefs). Passion to reach the next generation Calling to to full-time ministry. At least 2 years of relevant experience leading or serving in youth ministry Exceptional leadership talent. Comfortable with public speaking. Able to engage in healthy conflict and initiate hard conversations. Demonstrates spiritual gifts to serve others in team environment. Ability to recruit, lead, and train youth leaders, and student leaders. Ability to both give and receive constructive feedback. Live and drive Alive Family Church cultural values.
