Support Worker : Safe Spaces (Day Shifts) 37.5 hours per week (12: hour day shifts) on a 7: day rota basis A GBP 23,645.70 per annum Job Ref: A804 Can you support customers who are in mental health crisis? Can you provide a safe, non: medical, calm environment to people who may otherwise be admitted to hospital? Do you have experience of supporting customers to achieve outcomes through support plans? Benefits: Up to 40 days annual leave Provide excellent training and learning opportunities Financial support with professional studies and professional memberships Contributory pension scheme Group income protection Occupational sick pay Healthcare cash plan payback At Safe Spaces we offer a safe space or sanctuary for those who are in mental distress or crisis when a hospital admission is neither wanted or needed. Our services users are offered a tranquil space to be alone and onsite support and listening ear is available during their stay with us. We are looking for onsite support workers to maintain a peaceful environment for services users in our care. The postholder will be required to offer information and help with distress by providing relaxation techniques and activities. You will be required to carry out 1:2:1 sessions with services users, take and process referrals, write case notes and link in with external support agencies. Some lone working is involved in the role and there will also be a requirement to prepare main meals for our services users. We are a dynamic organisation providing innovative and effective solutions in our work with people who have complex needs. We are a registered Housing Association providing accommodation, outreach support and a wide range of other community: based support services, supporting and empowering our customers. We support people with mental health ill health, learning disabilities, addictions, people who may become socially isolated, people who may have come into contact with the criminal justice.
