Enjoy the perks of working with the best and apply to join the Ford's Colony Country Club team today.Job Summary:The Director of Agronomy is responsible for successfully operating the Golf Course Maintenance Department and Clubhouse Grounds Maintenance. The Director of Agronomy works closely with the General Manager on capital improvement expansion projects, and interaction with the Head Golf Professional to maximize the number of rounds of golf played by scheduling maintenance practices around Member play and outings to maximize efficiency is essential. Programs for turf/grass, material and chemical maintenance, and asset management are critical to the success of this role.Day-to-Day: * Prepares annual budget and achieves financial goals throughout the year through proper forecasting, expense controls, and labor management. * Provide agronomic direction to maintain the golf course at the highest quality possible at all times. * Responsible for hiring, training, and developing all staff. * Ensures the staff works within OSHA, Club safety, and state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions. * Conduct performance evaluations of Golf Course Maintenance staff and crew as directed on a timely basis. * Provide appropriate staff feedback and recommendations to Senior Management regarding compensation, advancement, and training needs. * Determine appropriate personnel action (counseling, written warnings, suspension, or termination) in the event of performance, attendance problems, or violations of company policies coordinate with Human Resources, Legal, and Senior Management as necessary. * Assign and develop work-efficient schedules to meet the staffing needs of Golf Operations and as warranted, recruit and hire staff to provide a superior level of Member services. * Develop relationships with members to promote golf activities. * Effective communication with staff, members, and Senior Management. About You: * 3 - 5 years experience in Golf Course Maintenance management. * Minimum 2-year College Agronomy Degree. * Pesticide Applicators License. * Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements and recordkeeping as required by local, state, and federal laws. * Team player able to foster relationships with Members, Employees, and guests. * Bilingual (English - Spanish) communication ability preferred.
