Houdini has been with us for a little over 2 years. He was rescued from a hoarding situation. He had a bad infection in his mouth due to Stomatitis. He has since had surgery to remove all of his molars. He is doing great now that he has recovered. He does require regular annual visits to the vet. Stomatitis is an auto-immune disease that affects the mouth. It is not contagious to other cats. He is an affectionate lap kitty that just needs a home to appreciate his lazy cat tendencies. Houdini is good with other cats though he prefers that they respect his space. He is rarely playful and when he is it is in small spurts. For Pet's Sake Rescue is a Mississippi based rescue. Mississippi is overpopulated too many animals, not enough homes, and many high kill shelters. For Pet's Sake Rescue saves each animal from a different background.***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA/Breed test. We rescue animals from different situations. We do not breed! We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible***For Pet's Sake Rescue transports animals to other states with better adoption potential. Our goal is to keep animals alive and out of kennels into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Each animal is quarantined and vetted during their time in our care. Each adopted pet is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and has current flea treatment unless otherwise noted.You can visit our website at www.forpetssakerescue.org for our full adoption process and adoption application. Once we review your application and check your vet reference, we will contact you to proceed. If both parties agree to the adoption, we will send you an Adoption Contract with an invoice. Once the invoice is paid, your pet is "on hold" for you to pick up or we can transport the pet to you during a scheduled transport. Transports are arranged for specific dates. We will discuss these dates and locations with you during the initial phone call.We are currently unable to adopt pets to MA and RI residents.If you found our adoptable animals, we have other animals available in your area.
