Molding Technician III

Position Description Job Summary "This Job Matters" What's the job? Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Molding Technician III will perform color checks, color changes, quality tests, relieve for breaks, perform mold changes, set up and trouble shoot printers and packing stations, clean and set up grinders, perform advanced processing troubleshooting on injection molding machines and other duties assigned to the individual as needed. Molding Technician III is also responsible to help conduct all technical training on the shift and assist with new employee training. The Molding Technician III will be able to enter data into and report on Production-related systems. Responsibilities: EHS and 6S Ensure safe work environment in plant. Be LOTO authorized. Demonstrate active preventive engagement in EHS through performing STOP Observations and safety/environmental reporting. Identify, eliminate, and / or communicate any unsafe conditions. Ensure workstations are setup ergonomically. Complying to all PPE requirements Comply with all CertainTeed Siding and EHS Policies Maintain and improve cleanliness of assigned working areas. Quality Be able to understand and communicate what a good quality part is. Perform Hourly color checks. Abide by all ISO 9001 and 14001 procedures. Ensure that product packaging specification are followed. Perform basic visual quality checks. Production Responsible for aspects of production including: Reduction of regrind generation and increased reuse of regrind. Reduction of Scrap Minimizing pounds per color change while not sacrificing quality Read work orders and production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used. Print and distribute labels as needed. Assist in box erection as needed. Set up packing stations and printer as needed. Run molding machine as needed. CIL (clean, inspect, lube) accessory machines, collaborative robots, and panel machines (LOTO) Automation set-up and intermediate to advanced troubleshooting proficiency Perform mold changes as primary or secondary mold setter on all molds. Support CertainTeed molded product's goals and plans Maintain and improve visual factory. Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data and process changes. Perform advanced process troubleshooting on injection molding machines and material loading systems. Perform troubleshooting of injection molding machines and molds Perform basic repairs of molds and molding machines. Ex cylinder replacement, waterline replacement, basic robot troubleshooting and programming. Complete all necessary paperwork per procedures (ex: mold set up check sheet, shutdown check sheet, process logs and process sheets) Conduct technical training as required. Process to maintain or improve cycle time compared to standard without sacrificing quality. Understand and operate plant production monitoring equipment such as G2, Digital Dashboard and Como Systems Start and navigate Chewbacca and the IS grinder. Be a backup for QC or forklift. Maintain the Inkjet printers. Teamwork Be an active team member of one or more chartered teams. Required Qualifications "Your Skills Matter" What do you bring?
