Say hello to Max! This sweet gentleman knows what love is! Max had a human who loved him dearly and cared for him until his human got ill and he became a K9 Angel. Max is no spring chicken, but he comes with all the qualities adult dogs come with and all the love a dog can give. Max is calm and loves fiercely. He will follow you around the house and let anyone at the door know who the boss is. Whenever he sees you, he will start wagging his tail and rollover for a belly rub. He mostly ignores the dogs at this foster home but can be territorial sometimes and wouldn't mind being the only dog. We do not know how he is with cats or kids. He tips the scale at about 56 lbs, although he looks like a big fluffy bear. Max discovered pretty quickly where the treat drawer is and learned that strategically positioning yourself in front of it and looking cute will get you a treat. Peanut butter flavored please. Lounging around the house close to you is his favorite activity, and he sleeps soundly in his crate at night and will sleep in until you are up. Max walks nicely on a leash and is always up for a short walk around the neighborhood. He neither pulls, nor reacts to other dogs. He has "crunchy knees as the vet says, which will not change, so if you are looking for a jogging companion or someone to play frisbee with, Max is not for you. If you are looking for a loyal and calm friend, look no further. Put your application in before this handsome guy gets snatched up! Max is a Male Chow Chow/Lab Mix that we estimate to be born around 6/1/2015 and weighs 56.4 lbs.
