Practice Area: Patent Agents - Biotechnology,Patent Agents - Cellular Technology,Patent Agents - Molecular Biology, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 2 Years, A law firm located in Boston, Massachusetts, is seeking a Patent Agent with a background in molecular biology to join its Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group, specifically the Patent Development and Strategy Subgroup. The ideal candidate should possess strong academic credentials from nationally recognized schools, prior experience in a large or mid-sized law firm, and transferable skills. Preference will be given to candidates with registration with the USPTO and an advanced degree, preferably a Ph.D., in molecular and cellular biology or similar disciplines (excluding chemistry, medical device, or pharmaceutical sciences). Experience in litigation, opinions, licensing, patent due diligence, and/or trademark matters is preferred. Duties:Conducting patent searches and analyzing prior artDrafting and prosecuting patent applications related to molecular biology technologiesProviding strategic counsel on patent development and portfolio managementCollaborating with attorneys and clients to develop patent strategiesConducting patent due diligence reviews for corporate transactionsProviding opinions on patentability, validity, and infringement issuesAssisting with patent litigation matters as needed Requirements:Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or a related fieldRegistration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)2-5 years of experience in patent prosecution and portfolio managementPrior experience in a large or mid-sized law firm is preferredStrong academic background from a nationally recognized schoolAdvanced degree, preferably a Ph.D., in molecular and cellular biology or similar disciplines (excluding chemistry, medical device, or pharmaceutical sciences)Background in life sciences, particularly biotechnology, is preferred Education:Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or a related field Certifications:Registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Skills:Proficiency in conducting patent searches and analyzing prior artExcellent drafting and prosecution skills for patent applicationsStrategic thinking and ability to provide counsel on patent developmentStrong communication and interpersonal skills for client interactionsAbility to work collaboratively within a team environmentExperience in litigation, opinions, licensing, or trademark matters is advantageous Benefits Offered:Comprehensive package of benefits incl,uding medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement plan This Amlaw firm is best known for allowing its associates to find a balanced work load that best suites them.
