Cockalier Dog for Adoption in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, 55429 USNickname: Ockley Posted Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel / Cocker Spaniel / Mixed (medium coat). Ockley is a 7-year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix who is a true people pleaser just looking to live her best cozy life. She's never happier than when she can be your shadow and if she can keep you close while also being snuggled up in a fluffy spot, all the better. Her great loves are her people and soft and snuggly beds - she is a serious creature of comfort! Ockley is happy to do whatever you'd like her to do. Want a dog you can chill with on the couch? She's your gal. Want a dog that will happily go on neighborhood walks with you? She LOVES walks. How about a dog for long hikes and adventures? Well, she's small and has a little arthritis, so she might not be able to do everything, but she sure will try! At her foster home, she's been very happy with shorter walks every day followed by long cozy naps. She'd make a great office dog (as long as she has a comfy bed) and would likely make a great companion for any dog friendly outings. She is crate trained and will sleep in her kennel with some grumbling first. At her foster home, she sleeps with an 11 year old and is quiet and happy all night long. Ockley does fine being in her kennel for several hours at a time and also free in the house if you choose not to kennel her when out, but would be happiest if she could be with her humans most of the time. Being alone for a full work day all week would not be best for her. She's completely house trained and working on her leash manners. She rarely barks and is easy to distract when she does. Ockley is happy to ride in the car and will curl up and snooze on longer rides. Ockley can be a little shy meeting new people, but warms up quickly and is friendly with adults and children. She is submissive and has never shown any aggressive tendencies. Because of her size and arthritis, families with gentle kids or adult only homes would be best. Ockley is friendly with the dogs she's met on walks and doesn't seem particularly interested in the cats she's seen. She isn't super agile (no counter surfing here) and sometimes needs a boost onto the couch or up and down stairs. Ockley recently had dental work done and unfortunately had to have all her teeth pulled. While she currently eats dried food soaked in warm water, some dogs eventually go back to eating dried food, although not all. While it may be a teeny bit of extra work at meal time, the bright side is that you'll never need to worry about teeth brushing or dental bills for Ockley! If you're looking for a calm, gentle and loving dog who is happiest around their people and already house and crate trained, look no further! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, dental, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $450.00
