CALLIE is a very special senior female kitty with beautiful dilute calico fur (pale orange and gray). She is such a sweetie! She's playful, loves attention, purrs often, and even taps you on the shoulder when she wants attention! Even though Callie is about 10 years old, she loves to play with toys! She's a very talkative lady who loves to tell you about her day. She was very well behaved once she got situated in her foster home - she has perfect litterbox manners and doesn't make messes, eat indoor plants, or jump up on the counters. She loves hanging out in her kitty bed and sleeping, or watching her foster work at home. Callie was taken into our rescue after her owner could no longer care for her. She is diabetic and gets two small insulin shots per day (and she's very good about taking the shots). She also takes a tiny thyroid pill two times a day. She eats diabetic dry food and Friskies pate canned food. The vet has advised that she only have access to food a couple hours a day to best deal with her diabetes. Callie is ready and waiting for her perfect forever family who will care for her like the princess she is. Will you love Callie for the rest of her sweet days? CALLIE has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. These documents are available through e-mail or at our adoption events. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the dog or cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet. All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, De-wormed, treated with flea medication, spayed or neutered, and cats are felv/fiv tested.Shelter locationOur cats can be seen at Petsmart on Chad Drive and on Willamette St, at Petco near Valley River Center and Wags Emporium on Coburg Rd, seven days a week during normal business hours. We do have adoption counselors available on weekends or by appointment or from 12:30-2:30pm, Sat.-Sun.
