I am to be a lap cat. I found my experiments to be quite informative. Most notably, I have determined that a proper lap does not have a laptop on it. Laptops, while warm, do not possess the right feel underfoot. So, if you wish me to be your lap cat, you must rid your lap of any laptops. Additionally, I have found that shoulders can serve as adequate resting places when supplementally supported by the arm or back of a recliner. This has been found to be an acceptable alternate for those times when your laptop must be in your lap. Further experiments are underway to determine the optimal positioning - is it best to face the laptop or face away from it? You must note, despite having become a lap cat, I have not budged in my refusal to become a pick-me-up cat. Do not attempt it. I will not be pleased. Note also, if you ignore my yowl of protest, I have claws with which to express my displeasure. January 2021 MacGyver says... So you heard I am just like Garfield? That I am a bit of a jerk to the other cats? Seriously? Only a bit? I strive for excellence in everything I do. Plus, it is only SOME of the other cats - the ones I don’t like. Other than my color, I don’t see any resemblance at all to Garfield. Garfield is a lasagna-eating slob. I, on the other hand, am a fit kitty with a preference for a more nutritional diet of dry kibble. You can keep that human food to yourself. I don't want it. Unlike Garfield, I will NEVER wake you up in the morning so you can feed me. That is not my style. I will wait for you to wake up, then demand my morning quota of pets. If you prefer to remain in bed, I will lie on top of you, giving you the perfect excuse to stay under the covers while petting me. I am not what you would call a lap cat, but recently I have been experimenting with lap sitting. I think that I may come to enjoy this activity if presented with a suitably comfortable lap. The warmth potential is enticing, and I believe, mutually enjoyable, particularly on winter mornings. And if I choose to become a lap cat, you can be sure I will strive for excellence in this endeavor.Adoption processAdoption requirements include an application that tells us something about the adoptive family and authorizes us to contact the family's vet for references, a phone or in-person interview, and at the director's discretion, home visitation. We provide an adoption contract that lists the animal's current and anticipated health care and delineates the owner's and our responsibilities. Each kitten has a 2-week satisfaction guarantee which provides a full refund for animals returned within the 2-week time frame. Our typical adoption fees are $150 per Siamese Wannabe and $200 per Siamese mixes and Siamese and some others.Shelter locationWe show our kitties at Pet Supplies Plus 3320 Pentagon Blvd, Beavercreek, OH 45431 most Saturdays from 11-5. We also have events at Pet People at the 6221 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, OH 45459 and 756 N Main St, Springboro, OH 45066 locations. We also show our animals in their home environments, by appointment, evenings and weekends.
