Here's a rare find. You'll have fun with this pre-owned silver Kanstul Custom Built tenor trombone with an 8-inch bell. The serial number is 25xxx which, I think, from what I've read online, puts the date of manufacture around 2002. On the bell it reads "Kanstul Custom Built By Kanstul Musical Anaheim, CA. U.S.A." and "69" is stamped on the tuning slide. Well made, it has; slick slide, free moving tuning slide, 8" bell, 95% of its original finish, no big dents, mouthpiece and a hard shell plastic case. (case has wear/tape over cracks/but does the job) The slide has a few worn spots but works. (see pic) It has scratches and a ding here and there (see pics/most noticeable on the tuning slide) like the wear of an instrument that's been played but all-in-all looks solid and would detail nicely. Me? I'm not a store/repairman. Buy accordingly. Looking for instruments and getting them into the hands of players is a hobby of mine. I've never come across one of these. I'm not a trombone player but can get a nice sound out of it and, as is, would be good enough for me. That said, since whoever buys this will probably be an advanced player, I'm sure you'll want to have your tech give it a complete going over/cleaning/adjusting/give the works...and am selling as such. No question, a skilled hand could make it sing. Get it mint and swing. It sounds cool. The great Zig Kanstul was running the show there when his trombone was made so, who knows, he might've played it. I'm proud to offer it and you'll be proud to own it.
