Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION Wood is currently recruiting for an Entry Level Civil / Structural Designer I to support projects in the Katy, TX Park 10 Office. This position will be a direct hire, early careers position. Local candidate are preferred, as there is no relocation assistance or per diem available.. Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required.RESPONSIBILITIES * Functions in a design role, supporting drawing and 3D model development * Assists the design lead to accomplish overall project objectives * Performs tasks with a strong work ethic, positive attitude * Supports the discipline lead in maintaining budget, schedule and adherence to the project scope of work * Works with discipline lead and civil structural engineer to check model and drawing deliverables related to structural scope * Develops model and drawing deliverables that are compatible with Wood project and client requirements * Learns to apply civil structural engineering design best practices, fabrication and construction techniques * Learns to apply industry related standards codes, practices and procedures QUALIFICATIONS * Drafting and Design Certificate or equal training preferred * 0 - 5 years industry experience * AutoCad proficiency required, and an aptitude to learn new 3D applications, (E3D, S3D, and Cadworks) * Understanding of proper drawing organization and production * Basic knowledge of design / drafting techniques * Strong ethical standards * High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Highly motivated and demonstrates personal initiative * Possesses integrity, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and is dependable * Accountable for results. Adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of projects * Team player that works well with supervisors, subordinates, peers and clients
