Tsunesaburo Kurosawa 1969 Classical guitar with Brazilian rosewood

Location:
Escondido, CA
Description:

1969 Tsunesaburo Kurosawa Tsunesaburo 1A remarketed as a Spanish guitar by Sherry Brenner. Brazillian Rosewood and Cedar top, all solid woods, 664 scale 54mm nut with hand engraved tuners. Tsunesaburo studied at Ramirez factory and returned to Japan to build top quality 1A's during the 60s and 70s it was easier to sale Spanish guitars in the US over Japanese, so Sherry Brenner relabeled this as a Made in Madrid label I'm assuming for quick sale, he has been know to have relabeled or take the labels off Ramirez 1As of the time along with other luthiers. With the beautiful butterfly rosette this guitar has aged perfectly. Has 2 finish cracks on the top and little wear in the finish for its age"Words from a friend who owns this guitar. He has the guitar in North Carolina. He explains the label - as per what Sherry Brenner did.compare with this (search the internet for if reverb doesn't give the link)1970 Tsunesaburo Kurosawa Ramirez Cedar Brazilian rosewood Guitar | GSI (guitarsalon.com)1969 Tsunesaburo Kurosawa Tsunesaburo 1A remarketed as a Spanish guitar by Sherry Brenner. A little buzz on trebles at this height so it may be good to raise the saddle a little.-------------or, for a longer version, perhaps to help one better understand the guitar and the labels of Sherry Brenner etc etcWith the solid, straight brazillian rosewood, nice cedar, hand engraved tuners the unique Tsunesaburo butterfly rossette and the solid lining its 100% Tsunesaburo. Just Sherry Brenner did this often with Ramirez and others during that time period of the 60s and 70s. And in complete honesty I was skeptical before bought this guitar for 3000 dollars(I really did pay that) but after research I found out it was Tsunesaburo before purchasing. The Hernandis sold under Sherry Brenner were not of good quality and laminated back and sides. The Lorcas were made by Tsunesaburo just sold under one of Brenners labels like Ramirez did. Some Ramirez's don't even say Ramirez on them. I do like being thorough with my explaining so forgive me if I type too much. The luthier I have work on my guitars helped Wayne Henderson in Tennessee and he confirmed everything about this guitar is solid and legit. The 1A for 3500 online is identical to this, with the exact same rossette and tell tale signs. I think you could get 2000-3000 for this Also the Sherry Brenner Garcias and Hernandis guitars say made in Spain as well. He marketed everything from beginner instruments to concert guitars to real 1960s 1As, the Tsunesaburo and some Kohno's I believe were marketed with a Spanish label to be more likely to sale, back then the market was more for Spanish guitars than Japanese guitars even though they were phenomenal instruments people were just more likely to buy Spanish guitars hence why he relabeled them to sale quicker in the US market in the 60s and 70s.
