Location Perimeter Solutions- Rancho Cucamonga, California Description The Formulation Chemist II will report to the R&D Manager and work closely with laboratory and other department staff. This position is responsible for development and research related to the Phos-Chek line of fire retardants. Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Research and development with primary emphasis on improvement of current Fire Safety Products Design and conduct research that addresses customer needs and supports Perimeter Solutions business objectives. Document and report all testing procedures, results and observations in a laboratory notebook. Perform laboratory tests according to written procedures. Interface with manufacturing for new product development that will include product trials and scale up Provide technical support for customer-focused projects and assist in resolving product quality issues. Work closely and communicate technical information effectively with other departments and teams within Perimeter Solutions Provide documentation through written reports. ESH compliance Experience/Skills: Proficient in writing technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint) Proficient in data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific methods Excellent laboratory skills Experienced in patent language and writing. Experienced in Stage Gate process and project management. Excellent written and oral communication skills- good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions. Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and creative skills Demonstrated ability to work and contribute to a team setting. Experienced in Minitab Requirements: Minimum BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering Minimum three years of experience in chemical industry working on product development and improvement of current formulations. Must be able to travel a minimum of 10% throughout the US and Canada Must be able to work after hours and weekends as needed. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
