SUMMARY The Education Coordinator is responsible for campuswide curriculum development, staff training, and student assessments while organizing, implementing, and overseeing educational programs and p roviding training, support, and ongoing surveillance to all employees. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Orients new Clinical Staff as required; Participate in the onboarding of new employees. Lead, schedule, track attendance, lecture, and provide updated content as needed in classroom orientation for new staff and visiting students. Observe care on the unit; critique and make recommendations for improvements. Provide weekly in-service topics (UTI prevention, Fall prevention, Pressure Ulcers, Transfers, etc.). Provide Mechanical Lift Training for staff. Conduct competency reviews and audits (i.e. Medication Administration, Medication Carts, Glucometer proficiency, CNA documentation, Vital Signs, etc.). Ability to assess and verify competency. Assist with resident dining. Mentor current staff having performance of care issues. Assist with clinical staff continuing education and training. Monitor annual competency reports for clinical areas. Interview CNA and Nursing candidates. Perform job responsibilities of unit RN/LPN if needed. Proficiency in advanced computer skills and data entry. Provide Technical Support for Versus badge programming, portable phones, SigmaCare, and Pyxis supply stations. Demonstrate excellent customer service and project a positive attitude. Maintain Education records. Maintain Student Rotation records and forms. All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience. BLS CPR Card. 30-hour IV Certification. Associate degree. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. WORKING HOURS Scheduled hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required depending on workload and special events.
