Senior Buyer OPERATIONS, SLC (on-site) Job Overview: We are seeking a Senior Buyer to help further grow and establish Calyx Containers Supply Chain through strategic sourcing and vendor management. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing our global supply chain operations, ensuring the efficient procurement of products from suppliers and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. This position requires a deep understanding of international trade, logistics, and supply chain dynamics. Responsibilities: Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors fostering collaboration and effective communication. Monitor vendor accountability and implement improvement strategies as needed. Work with Quality Manager to ensure accountability with vendors for defined Quality expectations and adherence to supplier quality agreements and AQL’s Collaborate with vendors to streamline processes, reduce lead times, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency. New Product Introduction: Work closely with Product development to align Calyx standards and process flows for new product launched with day to day operations Ensure new products are integrated into existing processes for a streamlined order to delivery process Draft contracts for new vendors to hold them accountable to standards established Sourcing: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to meet the company's product requirements in collaboration with the Quality department. Conduct market research to stay informed about global sourcing trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities. Negotiate favorable terms and agreements with suppliers to optimize costs while maintaining product quality. Additional Aspects of Supply Chain: Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods Entering and monitoring Purchase orders Implement strategies to optimize transportation costs and minimize supply chain disruptions. Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate these risks. Collaborate with leadership to address regulatory challenges and ensure adherence to global standards. Participate and provide quarterly and annual goals for the department and ensure execution Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. Proven experience in sourcing and vendor management, preferably in a managerial role. In-depth knowledge of trade regulations, customs procedures, and logistics. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Analytical mindset, with strong statistical and problem-solving skills. Lean Six Sigma certification a plus Familiarity with NetSuite ERP system and supply chain management software. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to develop effective internal and external relationships with vendors Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Advanced Excel experience, and competence in statistical analytical software systems Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team Must be able to be on-site in West Valley City 5 days per week.
