German Shepherd Dog Mix Dog for Adoption in Davis, California, 95617 USNickname: Lily Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Lily's motto is "Three legs, don't care." Lily is a 6-month-old lovebug who is the epitome of sweet. She is fairly mellow for a dog her age and is the perfect mix of adventurous puppy and couch potato energy. She loves everyone she meets and will squish her head right in between your legs to ask for attention. Lily weighs about 40lbs and will likely be around 70-80lbs when fully grown. Lily came to us after she was found as a stray and brought to the Solano County Animal Shelter. She was in pretty rough shape when she came to the shelter and was unable to walk due to having a fractured leg and pelvis. A shelter staff member agreed to foster her and it was decided the best course of treatment was to amputate her broken leg. Lily was then transferred to us and she has been doing great. Lily has adjusted very well to being a tripod and is your typically happy-go-lucky puppy. She can get around great but does require a boost to get in the car. She doesn't require any special care other than she should stay at a slim weight to ensure she doesn't put extra unnecessary stress on her joints. Lily is such a love and she is happiest when she can be cuddled up with her favorite people. She has been doing great with her basic manners training, but can be mouthy sometimes when she is excited - she is a German Shepherd puppy after all! She is also still learning to not pull when on a leash. Lily would love to go to basic manners classes with her new family to help her learn how to be the best girl she can be and to bond with her people. Lily has done very well with other dogs and could be a wonderful companion for another friendly dog. She also could do great as an only dog. Lily currently lives with cats in her foster home and could do well with dog-savvy cats in her new home with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Lily has previously lived with kids and could make a great addition to a family with kids 5 years and older. Lily has been doing great with her housetraining and is non-destructive around the house as long as she has appropriate things to chew on. She does great in her crate overnight and when home alone. Dogs are tested for heartworm and started on preventatives, and are given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
