Description:

Jack Russell Terrier Mix Dog for Adoption in Valrico, Florida, 33563 USNickname: Sue Day Z Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 600. The vet estimates Sue Day Z (Daisy) is a 4-month-old Jack Russell Shepherd mix who is currently 20 pounds. She is genuinely a happy dog, and her personality shows so much enthusiasm for life. Some words to describe her are energetic, outgoing, loving, and very adaptable. She has big light brown eyes which give her that adorable, dreamy look. Her tail wags constantly wanting to be part of any action going on in the house. Daisy loves being told that she is a “good girl”. Sue Day Z was found dumped in a sewer drain (her rescue name Sue is based on being saved from there). A woman driving by this ditch, saw a little dog’s head pop up. She pulled over and to her surprise there were three dogs stuffed inside that sewer drain. She called her husband to help! He crawled into that drain and got each dog out. We cannot begin to imagine what the dogs felt like with someone forcing them into a drain and leaving them stuck there in a tiny space with no food or water. The family that found them gave the dogs baths and fed them since they were extremely hungry. The dogs in return started giving kisses and even wanted belly rubs. The dogs were so so so grateful. The good thing about puppies is that they usually do not remember the bad things because their thought process is about having fun! The fosters say she is very sweet, friendly, and well-behaved. Compared to other puppies they fostered they say she is a bit calmer and content versus being “puppy-crazy”. She loves to snuggle with all her human foster members including kids. She is crate trained, in fact, she likes her crate so much that she puts herself in it at night because she wants peace and quiet while as well as the security for sleeping. Daisy will be at your feet so watch out! You turn around and there she is ready to see what you are doing. She does listen to the corrections of what is a “no” and likes to be praised when she does it right. She may try doing something wrong a few times like chewing on an item that is not allowed but the second time she is told “no” she looks guilty and will stop. The fosters are guessing she is thinking “darn I got caught again but it was fun trying”. Toys toys toys – when she finds a toy in the house she gets so excited carrying it around and chewing on it. Her tail is constantly wagging since life is so fun and new to her. Daisy has a very short attention span because she’s a typical puppy. She starts playing with one toy then suddenly sees a different toy or sees something else going on and forgets about the toy she was playing with. It is very cute to watch how inquisitive she is. Daisy absolutely loves dog beds! The foster family has numerous beds and Daisy has claimed all of them as hers. She will go from one dog bed to another dog bed to be as close as possible to a foster family member or simply because she thinks “this is comfortable”. And sometimes she will suddenly take a short nap as puppies normally do thinking I need energy to play again later! Daisy likes filling each dog bed with toys. She will go to the toy box, pick out a toy, then carry it to a dog bed. Then the process repeats – she will grab another toy and either take it to the same dog bed or sometimes a different dog bed. The foster family finds this humorous looking at all the toys placed throughout the house. As they put all the toys back in the toy box Daisy watches them intently. Then when they are not looking, she will start all over again, pulling toys out and placing them in dog beds. She loves playing with other dogs. Sue Day Z is a puppy so she considers every dog she meets her friend. Daisy would be perfectly fine living in a permanent home as an only dog or as a companion for another dog. She likes to be involved in things and moves around non-stop, so it would be best if the environment is active. She will entertain herself with a chewy toy for a while but then wants to investigate what the other dogs might be doing. Her foster family is teaching her potty training and she is doing pretty well with it, but since she is still a puppy, she has had accidents inside the house. Or sometimes she thinks the mat at the front door is the place where she is supposed to go. Daisy is intelligent and wants to please so will continue to learn potty with the help of her new adopters. Sue Day Z has had two sets of shots and will need to have one more set of shots that are required for puppies. She also needs to be spayed before the adoption can be considered as final, which follows the rescue organization’s guidelines. The adoption fee covers puppy shots and spay, along with microchip. The adopter must be willing to take Sue Day Z to one of the rescue veterinary clinics for the remainder of her vetting. Our facilities are in Riverview, Brandon, Plant City, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota so her new owner must plan to travel to one of those (adopter’s choice) a few different times. Sue Day Z’s adoption fee is $600. She is currently being fostered in the Plant City area. ***We are a foster-based rescue with no shelter or facility to view our dogs, and our address is a mailing address only. Please be patient as we are an all-volunteer rescue, and our rescue dogs are in various loving foster homes throughout West-Central Florida. As a general rule we try to limit our adoptions to within the state of FL. If interested in one of our dogs, please fill out a foster or adopt application at .4luckydogs, and we will contact you by phone/text if we feel your application is the best fit out of the ones received.***
