This dog's adoption fee is $600. If you are still interested, please read more below: Girlfriend is a mature girl who is friendly with dogs and cats. She likes to sleep in the human's bed and relax in a dog bed during the day. She initially was afraid of people in general. Now she does ok around men and women, even during activity such as a floor replacement. She has come a long way since she came to A.R.F. as a rescue from a commercial puppy mill. Other dogs are her comfort and security. Girlfriend needs an understanding, patient & quiet home with another dog and a fenced yard. When she arrived, Girlfriend could not be touched or even caught. She shivered if a human looked at her. Today, she understands her routines and will reluctantly allow humans to pick her up and hold her. She both goes outside and uses piddle pads for pottying pretty reliably. If her foster is relaxing in the evening, Girlfriend will even come up and bark at her to be let out. Girlfriend has a safe-space where she can retreat when she feels unsafe which helps her greatly. She enjoys a nice, soft dog bed that she can sink into when she is out in the common areas with humans. Seeing her transformation has been heartwarming, and we hope for a furever home that will continue to patiently introduce Girlfriend to even more love and happiness. Only homes that meet the following requirements will be considered: No apartments; Has a friendly companion dog for Girlfriend; Uses only positive training; Has a fenced yard; and No children under 10 years old. Girlfriend is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations. Her new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. Girlfriend's adoption fee is $600.
