Responsibility Summary: The Director of Critical Care is responsible for implementing strategies and activities to achieve uncompromising quality, exceptional patient safety, and an outstanding patient/family experience. They ensure coordination of care across department lines, focusing on systems that promote interdisciplinary collaboration and communication. Responsible for the supervision and oversight of the Critical Care areas, Emergency Department, and Medic 55 ALS Program. Supervises: RN-BEDSIDE ED TECH CLERK ED PATIENT CARE TECH ED SR. SECRETARY NURSING ASST/UNIT CLERK SECRETARY ED Education: Minimum: Master’s degree in nursing or related area such as MBA MPA License Requirements: Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse. Certification Required: Certification for Emergency Nursing within one year. BLS, ACLS, PALS through the RQI system during clinical orientation. Basic Coronary Care obtained within 6 months of hire. CPI certification obtained within 6 months of hire. Certification Preferred: CEN or relevant certification strongly desired and TNCC Experience: 5 years nursing experience in Critical Care 3 years experience in the Emergency Department 3 years of progressive leadership in an acute care hospital environment.
