This is Pesto, and he’s a very brave little bird. Pesto came to us when police contacted the rescue for help as the owner had passed away in the home, leaving a bird behind. We have almost no background on this little cutie, including age or gender, but Pesto’s leg band and behavior indicate “he” is very young. Pesto is scared of hands, but with every day that passes, he comes more out of his shell and cage, especially when the room is empty. With work and patience, Pesto could be a hand tame bird, he is just not used to being handled. Pesto has also shown a bit of interest in calling out to other birds in his foster home, so we feel he would be a great addition to an existing flock. Due to the sound level of conures, it is not recommended to adopt into an apartment.Adoption Fee: $200Adoption processWhether interested in adopting a particular bird or not, you will need to fill out an Adoption Application, which can be found on our website. From there, our adoption team will process your application (including background check, veterinarian check for all current animals, and a home visit)We will not ship any of our adoptable birds, and have a 100-mile adoption radius. We do not adopt to breeders.
