Meet this handsome mug, Moose! Moose is a 2 year-old dark chocolate blockheaded boy, who's really looking for that perfect family willing to help him do some dedicated furthering of his education. He's had a rough year, being brought up from Texas then undergoing heartworm treatment, before being brought here by a human that loved him but had personal circumstances making him unable to keep Moose. Moose can be a little standoffish when first meeting new people, but once he's had a chance to build some trust he's starting to show his goofball silly side. He's working on learning better leash walking skills, as he's a strong boy and walks are extra exciting getting to take in all of natures smells. Every once in a while he even decides squeaky stuffed toys are kind of fun. It seems Moose never got a lot of positive socialization with other dogs when he was younger, so he's looking for a home where he's your one and only. He has responded well to training, but will need continued work on his leash reactivity when around other dogs. A "Reactive Rover" class would be perfect to help Moose learn better manners, and also a good way to work on that bond with his new family. When it comes to children, he's never really been around them as far as we know, so we aren't sure what he'll think of little kids.
