I am a handsome 8-month-old flashy brindle boy who is an owner surrender after being abandoned with my current caretaker and she is unable to keep me. I am described as friendly, shy, active, smart, protective, noisy, playful, affectionate, nervous, and obedient. Because I am young, I still have puppy tendencies. I like to jump when excited, like to hold the leash myself when going for walks, bark at strangers, and will bite at the vacuum cleaner if it gets too close to the humans. I do have occasional accidents in my sleep and do not have alot of social skills yet, so I do get nervous in new places. I am quite skittish around new dogs, but I get along well with the resident Boston Terrier, even when she growls and snaps at me. I have also had exposure to a lab mix and doodle mix and I did well with them too! I like to 'talk' to the other dogs on my walks and even joined the family for Halloween and did well with the other dogs and crowd! I do not know boundaries and love to be as close to you as possible. I currently live with 4 kids (ages 9-17 years) and do well with them. There are also 2 resident cats and I try to play with them, but they get annoyed and will smack or hiss at me and I give them space. I have been known to get into their litter boxes, so it's best to keep that out of my reach. Because I am young, I am still learning house training and crate training manners and will need help to learn them. I'm a smart boy and am learning "sit", "laydown", "stay", "wait", "eat", and "Gunner" and will do anything for a treat but will ignore you if you have nothing to give! At night I sleep on the living room couch or in the bed with the humans. There is always someone home with me so I am unsure how I would react if left alone. I am fearful of the vacuum, riding in the car because I get carsick, a plastic bag being shaken, and the mop. Some of my favorite things are chasing tennis balls, playing soccer, tug of war, ropes, leashes, jumping, play boxing, treats, food, family, and playful dog friends! My current caretaker says I am very expressive and like to be cheered on by the family when I accomplish things. If you are looking for an energetic, playful boy, here I am!
