Bambi came to us from the NYC shelter system. She was found in NYC as a stray with an old injury to her hind leg, it is weak and atrophied. Bambi went an orthopedic specialist who advised her rear leg should be amputated. Her surgery was completed and she recovered wonderfully. Dogs with 3 legs do just fine and can run just as fast as their 4 limbed friends. Bambi is already accustomed to not using the rear limb so for her, surgery will make life simpler. Bambi is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. She tested negative for heartworm. Bambi's adoption fee is $4 50. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption.
