I am a 13-year-old handsome sugar-faced fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to family dynamic changes of my owners and they are no longer able to keep me. I am part of the rescue’s Silver Heart program so be sure and ask about it because there are a lot of perks for my forever family when adopting me! I am described as friendly, smart, calm, playful, affectionate, and obedient. As with age, if I am left out of my crate for more than an hour, I will have a bathroom accident inside. I can be a bit shy at first but will warm up. I am stingy with my food and will guard it if I feel other dogs are taking it from me. I have lived with kids in the past and have done great with them, including neighbor kids! I currently live with two dogs and we get along fine as long as they give me space when eating. It is unsure if I am cat friendly since I haven’t lived with a cat and love chasing squirrels. I will alert the humans if a delivery driver comes to the door but I have had exposure to many people and do fine. I am house trained, crate trained, and know basic commands. At night I roam the house and sleep pretty much anywhere I’d like. I do get a little scared when I am left alone but if I am in my crate, I am great. I am terrified of rainstorms and will hold my bladder until it stops raining. My family rescued me from Hurricane Harvey which could explain my fear of water or rain. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I will however jump incredibly high at the door after I use the bathroom because I become proud of myself and am happy. I don’t play much with toys but love being lazy, interacting and playing with people, going for walks, and watching kids play while outside. My current owner says I am “the sweetest dog he’s ever owned” and that I’m “an incredibly easy dog” that is made happy with love.
