Description:
Rita is a 14 hands, almost 12 yo, dapple gray grade mare that I have had for over a year and a half now and never dreamed of having to part with. She is versatile, currently being ridden western but has the movement that would be good for English as well. She is great in a herd and is neither the top horse or the bottom of barrel, but can also be in stall with no fuss. She will stand tied with no problems Great with the vet and the farrier. Trailers without issue. Easy to catch, groom and tack up. She gets an amazing winter coat that really shows the dapples. She is currently barefoot and walks over rocks, pavement and dirt with no issues. Rita has been around all the farm animals as well as dogs and cats. She does good in an indoor or outdoor arena and will walk down a busy street with no issue. Rita loves to learn new things and excels in everything she does. She can take a few weeks off and start right back where she left off. She may be on the smaller side but she is a tank. BCS of 5, good confirmation and a sweet and curious temperament. No vices except she loves her treats. Would be great for an intermediate to advanced rider. She is fine on a grass/alfalfa mix and no grain and maintains her weight even through winter. She is current on all vaccinations and had her teeth done this last spring. She is lunged almost daily and does good on a line or just in a round pen, and knows her voice commands. Once warmed up she is good to go on any adventure. No history of ulcers or colic. Disposition is a 6 out of a 10. Easy keeper. No history of injury or illness except a cut on her left upper leg that has left a scar that looks like football laces. She respects all types of fencing. If you are a confident rider she will take you anywhere you want to go. Pre sale vet inspection completed.
