Description:

Please contact Judy (XXXX@live.com), (865) 300-XXXX for more information about this pet.Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation. We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve. Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable. Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography. What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes. Bruce used to be loved and had a happy home, but then one baby came along and then a second. You can guess the rest. His happy days became a faded memory. He was put in the garage or chained outside. Not sure why. He would never hurt anyone. He is very active. Guess they worried about an accident. His life just changed big time! Bruce is now in a foster home. and he is back to being Bruce. There are other dogs and lots of toys! He is a very friendly boy who loves to play. He knows basic commands. He not only brings you toys and balls to play fetch, but he keeps moving it towards you until you do throw it. If you do not play with him, he will just toss it around by himself. He is very athletic and very smart. Very happy boy. He is a velcro dog and wants to be close to you for naps and sleeping. Until he gets hot. Then he is happy in the floor. He loves car rides and doing whatever you are doing. He would love to have an active family and a canine friend who likes to play. He needs a fenced yard but, must be left inside when you leave. It is due to separation anxiety, but he is not destructive. If left outside, he will jump the fence and try to follow you. If you are home, he just goes out to do his business. Bruce is five and a half years old. His teeth have been worn down by chewing. We suspect he chewed on the chain and crate. But, it could be his passion for toys and bones. His tail was cut off as a puppy. He is housebroken. He is neutered, totally vetted, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on preventives. Bruce loves his big red rubber balls as if they were family. You can see one in the picture of him standing. They and his bed come with him. He does prefer your bed though. If you would like more information or would like to meet Bruce, please contact Judy at XXXX@almosthometn.org or 865-300-XXXX. Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee. Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need.
