Say hello to Bessie!She is a 4 year old Pit Bull mix who weighs 50 pounds. Bessie is an energetic and lovable girl who can't get enough of the sunshine. She can be shy at first, but she warms up quickly with some tasty treats. She loves going on walks, playing outside with her toys, and taking a nap in her dog bed and soaking up the sun. Bessie will gladly be a partner to do summer time activities with, but she is just as happy to snuggle with you on the couch as well. Bessie can be reactive with new dogs so she would need a very slow introduction to new dogs and may prefer to be the only dog in her forever home. Since she can be shy at first, if there are children in her forever home they need to be ages 13 and older. Bessie is a total lovebug who can't wait to find her new adventure partner!If Bessie sounds like the girl for you, give us a call at 330-487-XXXX ext 226 to learn more about her and schedule a time to come in and meet!Adoption processAll of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability. We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. Adoption Fees:Dogs6 months or under: $1756 months to 5 years: $1256 years or older (or special needs): $50 Cats6 months or under: $75 (or two kittens for $100)6 months to 5 years: $506 years or older (or special needs): $20 Senior to Senior Program: For adopters age 60 or older, adoption fees are reduced to $15 if the animal is 3 years or older. This service is made possible through the Pets for the Elderly Foundation. You will be asked to provide proof of age. Veteran Pet Program: Veterans and active military personnel receive 25% off of adoption fees. Valid military ID is required.Shelter locationWe are currently doing adoptions by appointment only.
