We are looking for two talented Co-Ops who have an interest in Material Science, experimentation and research and development. If you feel you are confident in a laboratory setting and eager to learn industrial testing methods in an aerospace grade level testing facility (AS9100; ISO17025; NADCAP) then please apply. We are looking for a 12-16month Co-Op. The laboratory Technician Co-Op will carry out various tasks and responsibilities in the lab. This is a full-time hourly position at Burloak Technologies (aka Samuel Son & Co. ) at 3280 South Service Road in Oakville, ON, requiring 40 hours weekly (up to 48 hours). The Technician will be reporting directly to the Materials Engineer/Laboratory Lead. This is a very detail-oriented position in the highly demanding Aerospace Industry. Onsite training will be provided to the selected candidate. Role Responsibilities: Performing mechanical/material properties characterization under ISO/ASTM standards. This includes but is not limited to powder testing, metallography, chemical analysis, mechanical testing Support Burloak’s activities for research and development programs on materials and process development for additive manufacturing Support Burloak’s activities with regards to ISO and NADCAP accreditations for materials and mechanical testing lab Perform engineering functions under AS9100 quality management system requirements Qualification Requirements Pursuing a college degree or BS in Material Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical degree with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Eligible for the co-op program for the duration of the contract Training-Technical Requirements It is imperative that the successful candidate can quickly learn technical procedures as they will be trained by the Burloak Engineering team on the specific equipment and standardized testing that is being preformed Knowledge Requirements: Demonstrated computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft.
