Butterscotch, Domestic Shorthair For Adoption In Dundee, Michigan

Price:
$85
Location:
Dundee, MI
Description:

Butterscotch is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH), female, DOB: 11/8/18. Butterscotch has an engaging, larger-than-life personality that is both charming and delightful. Brashly curious and brazenly inquisitive, she likes to be busy, but she has a definite comfort zone in which she operates, and without a doubt, she will need some time to settle into her new environment and get comfortable before being willing to show the fun-loving, playfully impish side of her personality. Not so-much afraid or shy but hesitant in new situations and having a definite comfort zone she likes to operate in, Butterscotch seeks encouragement from a gentle touch and soft-spoken words. Given that along with some time to gain her bearings and a bit of respect for any initial reservations with new people and surroundings, she will warm–up quickly, eagerly accepting and giving affection, enjoying attention and close contact, and will chose loving attention and interaction with her people over just about any other activity. Add to that a box-checked on her daily activity agenda for vigorous, sometimes ruff-n-tumble play sessions and you have a pretty undemanding, easy-to-please, happy-to-be-present feline looking for her forever home with a family willing to embrace her as a lifelong, cherished pet and family member. Butterscotch along with siblings, Holly, and Ivy were all rescued as orphaned kittens. We treated Butterscotch for a particularly bad URI and bilateral eye infections, which she has fully recovered from, but she will likely have chronic watery eyes on occasion as a result. She was dewormed, treated for Giardia, Coccidia, and fleas/ticks while with us as well. Butterscotch is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active to moderately active lifestyle and no active young children under the age of six (6). She is comfortable with other compatible cats and kittens, and she’ll be comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs after being given some adjustment time to warm-up and settle into her new surroundings. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption. Butterscotch currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet her by appointment with pre-approved adoption application. To start the adoption process, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above. All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.
